CONQUERING THE PAIN OF INCEST CONTINUED:
The act of incest not only affected my relationship with men, it affected my relationship with my mother, to the extent we did not have one. It also affected my relationship with my daughter because I did not know how to have one. It was a work in progress. How did I escape the pain? I cried out to God for help. I knew I could not do this alone. There were times when I thought I was healed, then suddenly the pain would resurface. I wanted to be rid of this once and for all. If I was to have a chance at a normal life, to have normal relationships, I needed to put forth a concerted effort to overcome. As I stated before this was not an easy process, however, it was obtainable.
The first thing that must be done in any case that appears to be impossible to us, is to turn it over to a God who can perform the impossible. With God all things are possible. What I needed to do was to remember what the word of God said, “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” I needed to remember that God would keep me in perfect peace if only I would keep my mind on Him. The one thing that the enemy does is to always remind us of our failures, of our faults, our shortcomings, but God said “for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more” (Hebrew 8:12) I had to keep this in mind.
As well as remembering what the Word said, I had to pray. I prayed a familiar passage of scripture, Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” I also read Psalm 70 in its entirety. Along with remembering what God said in His Word, and prayer, I needed to learn how to forgive. I looked up and read scriptures on forgiveness. In order for me to be forgiven, I had to forgive. Like I said earlier, it was a process. (Read: Genesis 50:17-21; I John 1:9; Luke 6:37; Psalms 25:18;) These are just a few scriptures, you may lookup others.
After releasing it to God, praying, and forgiving, I was well on my way to overcoming the pain of incest. Today, I have a beautiful relationship with my mother and my daughter. Today, I am no longer a victim of incest I am an overcomer, no longer in the position to be victimized.
Daddy is no longer in control, I am.

SPIRITUAL HELP FOR THE INCEST VICTIM
THE INCEST VICTIM MUST BE TOLD, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. IN THE TRIAL OF LIFE, YOU HAVE BEEN JUDGED, NOT GUILTY. THAT’S RIGHT, YOU ARE INNOCENT. GOD WILL AVENGE. AFTERALL, HE SAID VENEGANCE IS MINE.
DO NOT ALLOW WHAT HAS OR IS HAPPENING TO YOU, TO BE YOUR DEMISE. OVERCOMING THIS TYPE ABUSE IS A PROCESS. LIKE GRIEF, IT TAKES TIME. REMEMBER GOD IS A HEALER.
1. EXPOSE THE ACT. TELL SOMEONE. DO NOT MAKE THIS “YOUR LITTLE SECRET.”
2. REMEMBER,DADDY, UNCLE JOE OR AUNT JANE ARE NO LONGER IN CONTROL. “YOU ARE”.
3. DO NOT ALLOW THE PAIN OF THE ABUSE TO DETERMINE YOUR FUTURE.
4. SEEK OUT COUNSELING, SPIRITUAL AND/OR SECULAR IF NEEDED.
5. REMEMBER IT WAS NOT AND IS NOT YOUR FAULT.
6. LIFT UP YOUR HEAD, YOU ARE NO LONGER DEFEATED, YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR.
7. YOU ARE NO LONGER A VICTIM ,YOU ARE A SURVIVOR
8. KEEP STRIVING TO DO THE RIGHT THING.
9. ALLOW THE WORD OF GOD TO MINISTER TO YOUR NEED.
10.KEEP LOOKING UP, THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
